How is the hunting in Pike county compared to the rest of southern Ohio. I know it has more hills than some other parts of Ohio and less farm land. How do you guys set-up on these deer? Do you get on top of the ridges where the greenbriar grows......Set-up on a bench halfway up a hill? I am looking for tips for October thru November. Thanks in advance for the advice.

The hills near the Scioto river bottoms where there is corn and beans is very good. Yes, access it from the top, and hunt benches and saddles between big woods and clearcuts if possible.

i use to hunt down that way about 4 miles from lake white. I can say from my experience the deer are excellent. That is one farm I would love to have access back to hunt.

I hunt down south east of Chillicothe and I have found the deer use the saddles between the finger ridges that come off a big ridge. Some people call these bowls.
Also further down these hollows at a good place to cross a creek. The deer like to hold back in these hollows where it gets skinny and starts to go up to the big ridge.
Also any benches that will allow them to go around a ridge instead of going over it.
