Any of you guys know much about this bow? A guy I work with is offering it to me for 100.00. Its my first compound. he said its a little heavier than the latest ones but its complete with quiver, sights, rest, etc.
Good buy???
Thanks for your help!!

If that is your price range, then it's a heck of a deal. But, make sure you take it to a archery shop and let them look at it. They'll check it for safety and then help you get it set up for your specifications.

thanks for the reply!,
100.00 bucks is pretty cheap compared to the 700 - 1000 for a new one. I figured being my first bow, it would be pretty good.
I just wondered if anyone had one and had any problems like being really noisey, or something like that.

What about a browning dakota? I found info on a PSE Dakota but not a Browning. Anyone heard or shot one of these? Better than a PSE Fire Flight??

PSE makes Browning bows boys. They also make bows for Archery Research. Also the same company as Horton. They are the same bow.

I think it sounds like a good deal. PSE makes great bows... I have been shooting the same one for the last 9 years. I have never had any troubles with it and it shoots great. Granted I would rather own a mathews but i cant afford one yet :mischeif:

Thank You!!

I had the fireflight express, about that same time frame, it was a great bow. Is it the right draw length and weight for you? The one big difference you will see is that it is incredibly slow compared to bows from the last five to ten years. I'd check my draw length and poundage and do some exploring on Ebay or your local shops. The fact it's about 20 years old would worry me a little bit.

I bought my first compound bow in the early 90"s. It was a PSE lighting flight, in witch i still have to this day. At that time i was looking at the fire flight, and if i remember correctly, these two bow are in the same catagory. Mine is set at 70 lbs. with an overdraw. I shoot easton xx75 2213 with a thunderhead 100 broadhead at about 235 fps. I killed my first buck with this bow and dont plan on parting with it anytime soon. I beleive for a 100 dollars, you cant beat that deal. i would jump on it. I invested over 350 dollars on mine, and i love it.

The draw and weight are good, as far as speed you mean the FPS? will it really be that slow? For a first bow do you think it will be good. I mean I'm only spending 100.00 bucks on it. So I am not looking for top of the line. Maybe in a few years when I get confident with one.

What draw length and weight is it? I was shooting XX 2317's with 145 muzzy's and I was getting 215-220 FPS. It was a slow heavy bow, but it did the job. Don't know about changing the cams if you could find any.

I was just on Ebay, they have 719 compound bows priced at $100 or less right now. A lot of them won't fit you or don't have all the accessories with them, but I'd give them a look before you buy this one. I do think it's a good idea if you can find one that's fully equpped to start out with.

Yes, it will probably be that slow. If bow hunting is just somthing you are trying out to see if you like it or not, then i wouldnt go out spending a whole lot of money as it could get very expensive. But, if you already have the fever, and plan on bowhunting for many years to come. Than going out and bying somthing new could be your best bet. They will size you up with a bow that fits your arm length, and you cant find somthing alot lighter and faster. But maybe you should look some more befor you commit to buying, you could find a better deal. To find out weather or not you can change the cams, you might have to contact PSE or a dealer because it is that old.......good luck
