I have a young pup and he has picked up the "come" and "sit" commands quickly and easily. Can anyone offer any effective methods of teaching the "down" command? I would greatly appreciate it.

What are you wanting out of "down"? lay down or don't jump up?

Sorry, I mean to lay down...

All I've ever done with that is making them sit first then place my and on the groung in front of them and say down. Then gently pull their front legs out and repeat the command. Always worked better if I already had them half way there.
