looking for some private hunting land

Hunted in athens county last year. Was amazed at the amount of deer and the quality. From Mississippi, hunting in ohio will ruin a southern deer hunter. Total different hunting, but absolutly love it. First time hunting up north, very nice country and excellent deer hunting. We hunted on public land in the wayne national forest. Although it was some very good hunting, would like to get the chance to hunt some private land also for the 2008 season. Me a few buddies make the trip around the last week in October or the first week in November. We bow hunt only since the rut is primarly in archery season. Was wondering if anyone had or knew anybody that had some property they would like to be hunted around this time in athens county, around Ohio university. Thats around where we stayed last year. Kinda familair with that area, but would'nt be opposed to any surrounding area. Would'nt mind paying, or working some kind of a deal out.

If I owned my own land I would see if you wanted to trade a hunt. I'm sure others on this site may want to trade a hunt with you....deer for hogs or something like that. Good luck!

Yeah, that might be something to think about. But it would'nt be a good trade off. I shot an 8pt last year in ohio that was 17.5 inches wide. The deer was only about 2.5 years old and wighted about 215 lbs. Your not going to find a deer in Mississippi like that at 2.5 year old. We have some decent deer but doesnt compare in size as far as body goes. I have a 100 acres here and have some good deer on it. So maybe could work out a deal.
