Last night i saw Fox 8 news had a segment on how coyotes attacked some dogs(can't remember where). They tore up a full grown lab pretty good. They talked about how they are a problem but never mentioned how they are legal to be hunted. Anyone else see this?

Also, my buddy's lab got a pretty good gash the other night right on his nuts. Not sure how he got it but its definitely a bite from something large. We've seen more than a couple around his block of woods in Trumbull Co. We're gettin ready to do some yote hunting this weekend.

i saw the same show last night ,but odnr did say they could hunt them all year long during the interview .the town was medina ,i got in touch with the man immediately after seeing that ,we are going to hunt there sunday .there were actualy 3 neighbors who have had 3 dogs (all over 80 pounds ) tore up since january .but they only showed the chocolate lab last night .when you have coyotes attacking dogs that big that close to a house , you have a pack denning up close by getting ready to have pups .the man told me they were taking deer an a regular basis also turkey .

This is a good time of the year guys to be out coyote hunting. They are mating right now and food is hard for them to fine so they will attack your pets if they are outside.
My daughter over in Delware, Ohio neighbors black lab was attack and killed just two weeks ago in town by two coyotes and it was around noon time. My daughter seen it all.

Sounds like you better get after them over there.

I would love to go out but with all the cold weather plus I can't feel anything on my left leg from the knee down I better stay home till it warms up a bit.

That sucks. I hope everything turns out ok for you.

I have a slipped disc and degenerative disc disease.....I have numbness in my toes all the time.

It's fun getting old.

going this weekend with Stonewall after some yotes in Adams Co that attacked my Uncle's Pit Bull and German Shepherd a couple months ago, tore both of them up pretty good. A few weeks ago his dog was going crazy at the back door so he grabbed a flash light and his pistol and went to check it out... There was a yote pacing back in forth in the back yard wanting to get at the dog, he shined his light on it and it just looked at him, popped off a few rounds but missed... Should do pretty good hopefully, gonna use an e-caller and homemade decoy.

It was a work injury plus I also have two herniated disc along with that knee injury. Cold weather gets to me fast now plus I have to really look out not to get my left leg to cold.
I am trying to talk my wife in to moving down to Florida in the winter time next year .......... she retires in about 5 weeks.

Hey that sounds like they was coming in to your call but you left to soon. IF your going to try taking some bait make sure it really smails bad that day or it may not work for you. Now if you start baiting now before this weekend you may have better luck........... but you still better have some ting that really smails bad. IF you do bait this week make sure you put in in the same spot ever time.

Good luck and keep us posted.
