I have some land behind my house. It would seem like theres alot of deer but I never seen deer back there seen some tracks here and there. Anyone got any tips to help me bring the deer and and keep them coming? And its not alot of land like 15 acers. I just wanna do some hunting in the backyard or be able to go out in the backyard enjoy the great outdoors and watch some deer.
Do some reading up on food plots, or hang some feeders. Seems like feeders with corn in them seem to do the trick. But there are others far wiser then me on this site that could tell you more. Good luck.

I am no expert and don't claim to be. I will probably get bashed for stating my opinion but here it is. I would put in a food plot. The food plot would consist of food that deer really like and is not growing on the surrounding properties. It doesn't have to be real big maybe 3/4 of an acre. Then I would put in a bedding area. You can plant elephant grass or some kind of prairie grass (something that will grow pretty tall and thick. I would make sure that the two plots are pretty far apart from one another, this way you can hunt the travel routes. Good luck to you.

I only own 14 acres and the deer here just travel through my place.I have two feeders out and I have taken 4 deer of my place in two years on their way to the feeders.when the rut is on the bucks chase the does all over my place. It seems this year more started hanging out on my place.I only hunted it about twice a week so I would'nt spook the ones hanging around.:bouncy:

to keep deer in a small area, you need a quality food source, water, and shelter/security. 15 acres is not much to work with. it makes it difficult to form grass plots for bedding or add a pond or brush. you are going to have to give the deer a reason to pass through your plot. view out your land and determine the easiest route of travel, from there i would decide how to lay out a small food plot(alfalfa) or some sort of food source. your best bet might be to offer the deer a food attractor until the deer become a familiar with your area.
one trick up my sleeve is to find the thickest area on your property, and well before the season, cut a trail through it(have it end at a food source). an easy route through the thickest brush is a magnet for deer, especially big bucks.
keep me posted on how you do.
