Does anyone fish the New Cumberland Dam. Fished there my whole life and have had a couple of bad years lately.

What do you catch there? I drive by there about 26 weeks of the year but never wet a line.

We Catch Sauger and Walleyes. If you catch it right you might catch a few hybrid Stripers. I never seem to find a pattern with them. Just like everywhere you can catch alot of catfish.

About two years ago the Sauger fishing was great.

It has been quite a few years since I did any good at the Pike Island Dam

I fished Pike Island with Ohio Bill once. He caught a striper that day.

There has been a lot of construction at the power plant at the New Cumberland Dam and the traffic on the river has been bad. they have been off loading equipment near the entrance to the large chamber.
We have fished it a lot as we live near and have had times that are good and days of few fish. We have had days of small mouth that were good, along with sauger and walleye. This past year was not good. Hopefully it will become better this coming summer.
At Pike Island if you can get the spoons into the wash when they open the near gates you can get some nice strippers. We have gotten a lot of walleye and cats here also.
In the last couple of years we have gotten some nice size gar off the fishing deck when floating minnows.
