I bought a gun today and a friend of min that knows a little more than me about guns said that it was a 870F. How do I tell if It is an 870F or just an 870? It has an F on the right side of the barrell that my other wingmaster doesn't. He said that is how I can tell it is an 870F and not just a regular wingmaster. I know that this is a very highly sought after gun if it is an F. If it is an F, It is for sale. I would appreciate any help.

This is just a guess, but i believe the F on your gun stands for feather weight. I've got a 20ga wingmaster 870 feather weight and i believe that it says F after 870. I know that remington makes an F Grade , if that was the case you would know your gun is special because if would have amazing wood and engraving.

it may mean its field grade. Not sure its just s a guess. Is the wood finished or is it more dull?
