hey Guys....am at a crossroads and am trying to decide whether I want to buy one of these or not. I've looked at lots of reviews, and they seem to be 50/50....some say they're good, but others say the parts, including the engines have a tendency to wear out fast. What appeals to me is the fact that its all electric, and its 4 x 4......very low impact in the whitetail woods.....
Have any of you ever personally owned one for an extended period of time? and what's your take on this product?
I don't want to go buy something because of the hype.........that can be misleading..
thanks for your comments ahead of time...its greatly appreciated....here's a pic just incase you've not seen one

Is that a beefed up golf cart, I noticed you said all electric. I have had a few carts in my day and they seem to take a beating alright, never really put them to any practical use, just beat on them as a teenager. They seemed to hold up fairly well, but that was awhile ago now. I did just purchase a rhino, I have 60 miles on it and have rewally just started to give it hell. So far it's holding up well and I have heard good about them...

I’ve had mine since mid December. Like all things it has good points and bad points. I’ve never heard anything about motors wearing out. They say to expect about 5 years batter life, and then you’ll have to replace them. Cost of batteries seems to equal about 5 years of fuel for a normal UTV, so that’s a wash in my book. Maintenance is fairly low; check battery levels and lube.
I’ll list the things I don’t like first: It’s not too fast, but I knew that going in. Suspension isn’t great, a bit rough on the body. Independent suspension would be a HUGE help. The shroud in front of the front motor is plastic. It only takes running over a couple trees to break it. :D Easy fix though. There are a few squeaks and rattles when new, but I’ve worked about all of them out. Battery life is lessened in cold weather, but I’ve never run it dead. If you were going for long distances, it could be worrisome. I really would prefer an actual bed. What they have probably works for 95% of owners, but I plan to build a bed for mine. There’s only one thing that I really would complain about, the turning radius SUCKS. I don’t know why they couldn’t make it tighter, but it often requires pulling forward and backing up to make a tight turn. That would be my only actual complaint about the machine.
The good things are what they advertise. It’s quiet. About the only noise you hear are the tires on the ground. You’d be surprised how much noise is created by tires when you can actually hear it. I can hunt anywhere on the farm and the deer never hear me coming or going. Very little or no scent. I can watch deer react to where I have driven from the house. With the truck they always pause and get a little nervous. With the Bad Boy they cross my trail like I was never there. Good tires and it goes where I need it to go, though independent suspension would help crossing ditches. Plenty of low end power. 1700 lbs sitting low over the wheels creates a lot of traction.
Overall I’m happy with the purchase. I needed some type of UTV, and I chose the BBB because of one thing, hunting. It’s done exactly what I needed. It’s not something I would use to plow up food plots, but I wouldn’t use any sort of ATV or UTV for that. That’s why I have a tractor. Good luck looking for a used one. I’ve only seen a couple, and they weren’t anywhere near Ohio. The new models made some big improvements, so I would suggest getting new, or at least less than a year old. If you have any specific questions let me know.

Nice review M M. Does the 4 wheel drive work well in mudd and going up hills. I would prefer a rhino or something that is gas powered, but it sure would be nice to sneak up on the wildlife. Does it have decent power. Do you know the hp rating? Thanks.

There are two motors, one for each axle. Both are 15.5 hp, so it's a total of 31 hp. I've had no problems at all with either mud or hills. When you will run into trouble is a steep hill that is slick with mud or snow. The power just can't get to the ground, as with any vehicle. It will climb MUCH better than my 2x tractor, but that's not saying much. :D It's slow going up hill, but the wheels never stop turning. Still, independent suspension on the front would be a huge improvement. I'm sure now that I have one they'll add that to the next model they come out with.:irked:
I've been doing a lot of tree cutting lately on the farm and have been using the BBB as a "skidder", pulling logs out of the woods and up into a field. I've been very surprised how well it can pull the logs that I've been working with, as some are heavy enough that it's all I can do to roll them over and hook up the chain. Work like this does kill my battery life, but it's easier than taking the tractor. In the future I would like a gas model for work like this, but my reason for buying it was hunting, and I've found that the BBB will do things I really didn't expect it to do. How you plan to use it is the biggest factor in whether one would work for you.
