Absolutely disgusting :yikes: .

I lived in Houston for six years and the only roaches we EVER had were there when we moved in after the house was vacant for 9 months.

Exterminator lit a roach bomb off in the attic and hundreds started pouring out from under the shingles and eaves. We only saw one or two live ones. Just goes to prove that if you see one, there are MANY more you don't.

We kept up with the exterminator on a yearly contract and the only roaches we ever saw were in the garage and they were on their backs with their legs skyward.

I won't name the exact hotel, but will say it's in Cambridge Ohio. Spoke to the Manager and she was insistent that they were on a monthly plan but wouldn't allow me to see the paperwork. My buddy booked the room through Expedia and she said they would have to contact them for any type of restitution. I told her we expected a full refund or we'd make a call to the local Health Department. She offered to move us to another room, like that would make any difference. Those thing live in the walls and crawl out of your electrical outlets, inside your TV, even inside bathroom pipes. No guarantee they wouldn't have been worse in the other room two doors down.

Hit the laundromat Sunday AM before I even took any of my clothes/gear back into the house. HOT water and bleach. Didn't find any critters hiding, but if they laid eggs I wouldn't know if until the "war department" (Love you, Babe) started freaking out. Nobody needs that grief...

With Gun Season coming up, lots of us will be taking extended trips away from home. If your concerned about where your staying in Cambridge - go ahead and PM me and I'll be happy to be more specific.

Coonskinner,

Ten years? Geez! Six was more than enough for me. Wasn't too bad until the Company was bought out and shut down. I had to start dealing with Native Texans after that. The moment they found out I was a Yankee, they treated me like dirt.

Where were you stuck? I was in The Woodlands (just S of Conroe).

Are you kidding? I drove through there a few times on my way back to Ohio.

How'd that town get it's name? Any idea?

So you joined for the sole purpose of telling us all that you saw a roach? Maybe it's me, but it sure doesn't seem like a huge deal. If I was that scared of bugs, I guess I wouldn't be hunting. I've seen roaches in the wild. Should I just stay locked in my house?

The point is that they are easily controlled with proper chemical warfare and the place we stayed was a dump.

BTW - the join date is a new login. Been here for a few years, just not that active.

Hee Hee. Roaches are every where. You've probably brought them home from the grocery store. They just didn't get a foot hold. What's really scary is: Unless you're in the artic or an-artic, you're never more than ten feet away from a spider. That's straight from the bug guy at the university...
