I have been doing a lot of bass fishing the last couple weeks, just walking the shore line and casting mostly 3 feet or so parallel to the shore line using my older soft plastic lures to get rid of them, and not caring so much when i get snags in the water that is about 2 to 3 foot deep, loaded with rocks and stumps.....

been catching between 5 and 7 bass in 3 hours each day of fishing, they really attack the smaller swimming plastics like 1 1/2 shad .....have been using also 3 1/2 inch grubs in different colors with curly tail... bass have been up to 18 inches long, most were 15 or so, I naturally release all bass back into the lake.....

mostly have been just using a large shank worm hook with a large split shot squeezed on the top of the shank, and swimming the plastic just below the water line if possible at a fast speed to keep it from lodging in the rocks.....have caught a couple small mouth and a walleye....

medium green, motor oil, shad color, fire and ice, and chartreuse, all seem to be producing great hits, orange, and yellow not much action...

yesterday and day before I couldn't get anything to bite, the wind had the lake in white caps, will try again today........

Where have they been hitting?

I've got some time Saturday between honey-do's to pitch some plastic, and would love to get out.

Been fishing mostly lake Walborn, by hte price street bridge on the rocks....hardly anyone there this time of year, and sometimes berlin lake at route 224 and route 14 bridge, where the rocks are , this is still holding bass....sometimes walleye, caught a big small mouth a week or so ago...

they are hitting small minnow and shad type lures, best to use 1 1/2 inch size and even 3 1/2 inch curly tail grubs and swim them fast, this has been getting me some hard hitting strikes....

now unfortunately for the last 3 days of the cold front we have had, I can't get anything to hit.....that may change......
