I'm not going to get out Saturday, I'll be at the Buckeye's game. Sunday I plan on hitting public land. I just will not be able to make the 1.5 hr drive north to hunt one day, but I have to be in the woods somewhere.
Next week I'm taking off Thursday and Friday so I'll have 4 days to hunt my usual private land spot. Can't wait.
Good luck to all!!

im heading out this afternoon, should be a good hunt. Deer are moving everywhere. My dad just texted me with a pic of a nice 9pt he arrowed this morning. He was hunting with my mom and I guess a huge 12pt was chasing does in front of them before they got set up on stand. A few minutes later the 9pt came by nose to the ground and grunting. Only went 30-40 yards after the shot but broke part of his brow tine off after crashing into a tree. I cant wait to get out.

I'm heading to Shreve Saturday evening with a couple of old friends. Hopefully the pheasant hunters didn't scare my nice buck that I've been seeing away..................Rich

i dont know if ill be in the woods over the weekend or not ill have to see what happens tonight and tomorrow, this morning i didnt see the buck i wanted. just two little does and a small buck i mite settle for that 8 point i keep seeing he has real wide thick beams but little tine hight and he is deffinetly an mature deer. i saw this one grow up, but id would love to get my arrow through that 9 point that is perfict 135-140 class buck. it will come down to how much time i have in the feild even though i have the rest of the week off -- i truely dont i still have to take care of the things around the house or i wont get to hunt much more this year you know the.... wife thing.

I'm finally going to get a full day of hunting in on sat. It's been tough the last two weeks with work and honey-dos. She just keeps adding to the list. I told her this morning not to expect me around much this weekend and surprizingly she was OK with it. ( I'm going to the Browns game on Sunday) Next weekend I'll hopefully be out Friday through Monday with a good week of honey-dos done. Good luck to all who get out and stay safe.

Not a whole lot happening today where I hunt. I grunted in a 7 point that I saw off in the distance and I rattled in a 5 point. That was it. I'm hoping next week is it.

Well, it was certainly a beautiful morning but thats about all I can say for it. When I arrived at my hunting spot I was surprised to see that the landowner had decided to have his property logged. So there were trees down all around me and a skidder road right through the bedding area. Needless to say I didn't see a deer anywhere. I will try one more time and if I still haven't seen anything I will spend a partial day scouting again and attempting to move my treestand. I can't tell you how upsetting this was. We will have to see what happens.

That happened to me before. The land I hunt is leased. We lease it from a logger. A few years back, I went out for muzzleloader and he decided to have the pines cut. Needless to say it was mess. They even dropped a tree on one of my stands. Good luck.
