Go to either "The Fly Factory" in town in Grayling, or Gate's AuSable Lodge at Stephan bridge on the river and talk to those guys. Ask them which flies are working.

CMS,
What are that dates your planning on going? I'll be up there around that time also 21st - 25th. Without a drastic warmup, Brown drakes should be on still be the main fly and Isonychia will be a given. Also include sulphers in your selection. Like Steve mentioned the Fly Factory and Gates our the best shops in the area. If we get a good hot stretch or your up later you may get into some hex. I've got a lot of info and conditions logs on the area and can help you out as you need.

I was just discussing making a trip up to the Au Sable with one of my friends yesterday. Hopefully within the next 3 weeks or so. I have to go play in the desert all summer for military duty, and was hoping to get in a last trip before september....(which is the next time I'll be able to fish. I'll probibly be asking for some advice before I head up there lance, ...will definitely contact those fly shops too. It's been a while since I last fished the the au sable, looking forward to some late spring hatches.
