Excellent read!

I have been hunting the Michigan rifle opener since the late 80's, the last 11 years including this year at the same camp. One of the neighboring cabins, the guys bring their wives. They are a great bunch of folks. The wives enjoy hunting, opening day, the comradarie and they kill bucks!
My experience is if you come to deer camp you pull your own weight, independent of gender. I've never ever felt uncomfortable or threatened by a female's presence in deer camp, whether they hunt or not. If they can't take a joke...well you know ;) :D
My wife doesn't hunt, but she accompanied me to the cabin and deer camp year before last. Now she can't wait to go to the cabin! This year she may be sitting in a blind with a rifle :)

When I was married my ex and his "buddies" had no problem with me at camp..... We all pulled our own weight and they all insisted on helping me when I got my deer.... ;)

It was the year that I got divorced when I ran into problems....I was not welcomed to the "family deer camp" was always males, even growing up when I sparked an interest in it they said it was not for GIRLS...I taught them something new 2 years ago when they finally said that I could tag along....TAG ALONG I SAY......:tsk: I was the first one up and ready to hit the woods on opening day and the last one to come out of the woods....OH AND THE ONLY ONE TO GET A DEER !!!!! NOW.....I am the "official planner" of our hunting weeks. :shhh: They may loose me at Gun camp this year...I found a new addiction..............ARCHERY SEASON !!! Maybe I will let them TAG ALONG With me......

Good luck this season and hopefully your wife will get to really experience it this year and get her own deer....SHE WILL NEVER LOOK BACK :bouncy:
