those fabulous waterloo wonders..this is the name of the book.we talked bout it several months ago...someSCHOLAR came on here and doubted me that this book even existed.i told him i know it existed cause i had it an read it.how else would i know bout them???well here is the kicker...i seen it listed at auction coming up and i am going to try an get it

ok today is the day.wonder what it will go for...i hope not over 10$,its items like this that they can have a plant to run the price up on an object worth a dollar they could care less if they sell,throw away or donate to the library...we will see,ha maybe there will be a bear recurve too

bad news i was outbid,gave it a run to 65$ but they beat me at 70$...hopefully i can find it somewhere else.prolly find it at anyardsale for 50cent.

George, I never doubted you, but I know who did. I'll keep my eye out "for the book"...it's the least I can do for bringing up the whole "waterloo wonders" topic.

old hat,guess what i got at the auction today...i couldn't believe it when i saw it atop a stack of books...the fabulous waterloo wonders...i got it for 15$ an this was the same auctionaire...the other auction was near athens where we bid to 65$ an lost...this auction was near circleville...the book is in better cond. too.the auctionaire sed ,i wouldn't believe what it went for at the last auction and then sed wait you were there...i just grinned

about the best bunch of basketball players that ever stood on the court...1930's...in high school they beat college teams.they were the fabulous waterloo wonders from lawerence county.should be a movie,they played globetrotter style basketball,even scorin for the other team...

here is another bout the fabulous waterloo wonders.after they graduated 4 0f the original 5 went semi pro,then pro.they formed their own team.they even beat the new york celtics who were at time the champions.the 5th member who did not enroll with the team went to college at ohio state...this member was replaced by a ohio state graduate an basketball star by the name of BILL HOSKETT.

they won the state championship 2 times.the 2nd yr. they won it they had played a 66 game schedule that included many large schools from around the state like columbus an a couple colleges

no,i don't know if a movie was ever made but it would be a good one...they were majicians with a ball...when they played they acted as if the ball was a hot potato

Yeah, the globe trotters are cool.
Other than that I'm not a basketball, baseball, golf, NASCAR, rodeo, figure skating or foot ball fan. I do like to go base ball and foot ball games, but I just can't handle watching them on TV.
If only they had professional hunting and fishing teams......:)

I think I saw that book at a book store here in Toledo last week. I will go see if it's still there. If it is, do you really want it????
