So ladies, how many of you have been hitting the woods for bowseason? Do we have any tags filled yet, if so tell me about it.. I'm interested!! I know there are some big bucks down that way, I'm from the middle of Michigan so I don't see them like you might be.

Hi Courtney,

This is my first year bowhunting, I have been out only about 5 times, Unfortunately I do not have anyplace to hunt close to home so I was out opening day and each weekend since.
I have been hunting in Gladwin area, hopefully get a chance to hunt Pikney and Stockbridge on the next few weeks. Depending on work schedules. Gun will be in Grayling for the first week and back to possibly Stockbridge...maybe Hillsdale (Cousin just built a house on 50 acres and they do not hunt....:shhh:

Have seen numerous does and fawns. Have seen some bucks a 4 point on opening day and a2 different 6s but they are being to shy and stay just far enough in the woods that I can't get a shot.

But we have some time yet to take get them to visit a little more....

I have been gun hunting for about 7 years. Have only taken Does in the past mostly because the area I was hunting in Clare that is all we seen. Spikes and Does...I have hunted state land the last 2 years and that along with this year bow hunting I am gaining more experience each time I hit the stand not to mention that I am actually able to read the deer better and know what they are doing. If nothing else at least I have that..... Loving it even more !!! And meeting new friends along the way !! This sport ROCKS !!

BTB..congrats again on the doe not only the shooting but the recovery as well...GREAT JOB and preganant to boot !!! :bouncy:

:irked: :irked:I've been going out alot lately and all I've been seeing is darned ol does and their fawns! I know they'll have some bucks following them real soon so I'm being real patient :shhh: .. Normally we have about 27 turkeys come in to us too but I scared them off one too many times.. There's so many here that their annoying :cheeky-smiley-022: so I scare them off, carefully!!!!

I don't have the arm/shoulder strength to do bow so I have to wait until Nov 15 for me to try for a deer.

Oh believe me when I first started I spent the summer pulling my bow back to strengthen those muscles. I had a hard time at first but once you start working those muscles it gets easier, I'm pulling 50 lbs now.

I have fibromyalgia that is primarily in my left shoulder so pulling anything more than 5lbs is out of the question.

My son however, seems interested in learning it.

I've been hunting since about 7th grade. In the past year I've just started bow hunting. My 10 year old started so I go with him and practice with him. He's stronger than I am, got a crossbow and it is great! I just recovered the first arrow shot buck that I couldnt find. NC NR were hunting this weekend and came home Sat and found my great 9 point. ( I've probably walked 20 miles looking for him since, I knew I had a great shot, but then thought I imagined it.) The skull looks great, he's sitting on my dining room table. Before finding him, I shot a small buck that isn't worth bragging about I still can't believe this skull and antlers turned up. The NC men scored him at 118.:) :) :) :) :bouncy:

I finished muzzleloader yesterday, first time ever hunted. I'm proud of you to hunt. After dark, its sorta creepy coming in from the woods. Lots of fun and a super role model to girls and children. Keep hunting!!!
