Our archery deer season started Oct. 1 in Michigan, is Oho's season about the same timeframe? I've been out 9 of the 12 days it's been open and have seen lots of does, a few button bucks, one spike and one 4 point. Since it's been SOOO darned hot until 2 days ago, I've passed on all the critters that have been close enough to take a shot. We, at Michigan-sportsman.com, have a bragging-rights-only contest going on...so I'm kinda holding off for a bigger antlered deer. We have at least 8 women participating in the contest and hope to show the guys that we're a force to be reckoned with.
Anyone here enjoy bow hunting?

We have a similar contest going on here as well. Good luck hunting this year.

We SOOO tried to get it an all womens team but the guys doing it said that they couldn't do it so as to keep it all fair. But we are still keeping track in the women's area for our own little contest.
I have to wait another 30 days for my rifle season to open up.

Archery season in Ohio opened September 29 until Feb. 3. I haven't really been hunting yet, but i have been out almost everyday for the past 3 weeks or so. Just watching and observing. I have seen a really nice 6 point, a 4 point, two different spikes, and alot of does and young ones. I noticed that i have a coyote running around. I took a shot at him one time and missed, but i was shooting over 200 yards away. So i am hoping to take care of this problem. Haven't seen much turkey around and that may be why. Happy hunting and stay safe.

We will be doing some serious coyote hunting in December in our hunting area. They are getting WAY too numerous up there.

The yotes are out of control by us too. We used to have at least two flocks of turkeys with 65-75 birds each. My hubby and I figured this out when we talked on the radio and each of us was surronded by birds. This year, we've seen a total of 4....read that total of FOUR birds. The yotes and raccoons are very high on my list....I miss my turkeys! :irked:
