The first fish I ever caught on a fly was a largemouth bass, Indian Lake. Black sponge thing with rubber band legs that I tied myself, was supposed to be for bluegills. But as I think back on it, that ant  thing was as big as some popper bugs that I have since tied for bass.

I caught a lot of smallmouth last year on the Muskegon River (MI) last summer. Unfortuneately I was fishing for trout at the time. Big streamers for big browns.

I fish for bass, both largemouth and smallmouth quite often in the summer. Mostly smallies from rivers, but pond and lake fish for largemouths too. Also for walleye, saugeye, crappie, perch....whatever is available. Largemouths are everywhere. I like fishing for them mostly because I like tying bass bugs. I wade the olentangy, scioto, deer creek, and darby's alot for smallies and rock bass. I haven't been able to get a muskie on the fly yet, but there are many good lakes, salt fork, berlin, west branch, I believe alum has musky, and there are others too.
