I have been preparing for the "big day" come this Saturday and was checking out my deer calls. We all have 'em rather we admit to it or not. You know, those grunt tubes, buck bawls, doe bleaters, fawn calls, etc. with the o-rings that slide up and down the reed chambers to change the pitch. I found several of the o-rings on my calls dry-rotted and almost broken in half. I caught mine in time to replace them. Wouldn't want them to break and chance what they would have sounded like if they would have.

Thought I'd pass it along to the rest of you that you might want to check yours before its too late as well. I replaced mine with automotive type o-rings available in bulk packs from an automotive parts store.

I also had to replace the reed in my buck-bawl call as well as it was cracked. (Amazing what you can do with a plastic blister pack from a new Buck knife package) Sounds like (or better than) new.

Take note that like most of you,I have had my calls for several years. Probably longer than I realize. (or would admit) It doesn't take too many years for that rubber to deteriorate and become brittle. Why buy new ? Just a couple bucks and a little time and you're ready to go !

Good Luck this year boys !
