Ok i had just moved my treestand about 3 weeks ago to a new location and i have been seeing deer about every other day but i went out there last night and the farmer had the corn off and when the corn is off i very rearely see deer use that corner of the woods. My dilema is that the deer have a path that goes by my treestand that is used so frequently that it is bare and when i went out to check it after a rain its nothing but mud and deer tracks. So do i keep my stand on that trail or move it because like i said i rarely see deer there when the corn is off. It could be different this year, but it seems they change there patterns when the corn comes down. What should i do?

LEAVE IT THERE THEY WILL STILL FIND FOOD IN THE GROUND.

Id leave it there at least for a while. If there seems to be no activity there during daylight hours then move it.

I would leave that stand where it is and go hang another stand to hunt out of. Then pm me the address of the 1st stand and I will come and hunt it and let you know how things turn out  ;) :D
Just kidding of course. Unless the farmer plows the field under I think it should produce for you. The deer will still browse the crop residue.

I just talked to the farmer last night and he said he wasnt going to plow it he is going to leave it stubles but the farmer on that has the fields on the backside of the woods just cut a row going from one woods to the other (only about 75 yards) and took one row next to the woods and i am believing that the deer will travel that. That corn is staying that way for opening week. Should i still leave it there?

I'd leave it there for a while, and see how it works out. If the deer trail is so heavily used its bare, then they shouldn't stop using it just because the crops are cut.(imo)...They might change the times that they use it due to the lack of cover where the corn was though. Also if it has heavy use I might follow it back and see where it starts and hunt that end of it once in a while. just my opinion. New Guy
