How many guys who are posting on this forum actually bowfish? And I'm not talking about 20 years ago..I want to know how many times a week you bowfish and what type of boats, watts of lights, types of gens, arrows, tips and what ever else you want to tell....
Myself I shoot 3 or 4 days a week in the spring and early summer and get out to shoot 4 to 6 tournments a year..My boat is a 1648 all welded aluminum flat bottom jon boat..I am using 3500 watts worth of lights that are powered by a Coleman 5,000 continious(6500 surge) watt gen.....I do 99% of my shooting with the muzzy carp and gar tips and the Zebco 888's..My line of choice is the Fast Flight 200lb. test..My bow of choice is the Martin Nirk Rebel 50 lb recurve. But for deeper water I have an Onieda Aero-Force 45-65lb.......
So lets here who really is a bowfishermen and not some WANNA-BE.......

There are a bunch of great guys down that way who bowfish..Ronnie Cannon is the state REP. for the B.A.A. and I'm sure he could hook you up either with some one who would take you out or he would most likely take you out himself..

Whit,

Having some place to go isn't the problem. My work scehdule is pretty demanding right now. I'm lucky to find ten minutes just shoot my bow...

When I return next Spring I should have more time. Hopefully this up coming overseas deployment will be my last.

Well lets see here lets start off with i shoot about two to three time a week mainly weekend and i sneak in some morning shoots also,I have a 16ft flat bottom jon boat power by a 6hp johnson motor and minkota trolling motor with two decks built in,with 4-300 watt lights off the front deck powered by a coleman 1850 genny,I use and my favorite tip is the stingray point also use the stingaree point sometime, never tried the muzzy tip yet but will someday,i have the old style barrel reel, i like this one due to alot of string i can get on it,my favorite string is 200# braided line.My bow is my first ever compound bow and its a bear whitetail and yes with the old wheels still shoots like a charm and believe it or not still the orginal string.I normally fish in two tournament a year but will make it three this year.Whoops can't forget my neoprene gloves.

Well....For a boat I've got a custom 1872 alwelded boat that has a 102" beam and 4000 watts of lights...The sides are made of 1/8 plate and the bottom is 3/16th plate...All the floor and decking is diamond plate...The outboard is a 150 hp Johnson...For a genny I run a 5000 continuous watt Mitsubishi (5800 surge)....Bow wise I shoot a Intensity mostly (usually set 35-45 #) but also have a PSE Coyote recurve (55#) and bear 76er recurve (50#). All of em are set up with Synergys, or zebcos and 200# FF line. arrows i use plain fiberglass shafts with muzzy carp tips or shurshot penetrator tips and tie directly to the back of the arrow.
I usually get out 3 or 4 times a week but lately work hasn't allowe dme much time to go..
I shoot a few tournys when time allows and am always wanting to go to more than time allows.
If anyone wants to get together and shoot some fish sometime let me know...Have boat...will travel
