A raffle is being held for a one day fishing trip with Roland Martin. You get to choose whether you want freshwater or saltwater fishing. Raffle tickets cost $100, and all proceeds go to Saint Patrick Academy, which is a 100-year-old school in Momence, Illinois, which is where his wife went to school along with four generations of her family. Some of her nieces and nephews are still going there. The school is in danger of closing and this fundraiser is being held to try to keep the doors open.
I just went to this event and had a great time with Roland! Even though the event is over, they will be accepting entries for the raffle until October 25th and the drawing will be done on October 26th at the school. Only 100 tickets are being sold, so the odds of winning are pretty good! It was only advertised in the Momence Illinois area except for this link on his website. For those of you who don't know, I had the opportunity to fish and film a TV show with Roland in 1984. This is the first and only time Roland is ever done anything like this and probably won't be doing it again. Even if you don't care about the school, this is a chance of a lifetime for a trip you'll never forget!
