In the rules it says the deer must have the tag on it for the photo. Does this mean, ohio metal tag, or can it be the hand written tag nad the hunter prior to checking it in?

Hopefully it means just temp tag. I don't feel like dragging my deer out and to town and then back to the woods for pictures.

Hopefully one of the moderators can clear this up before next weekend.

A properly tagged deer will be scored. This can be the temporary tag (properly completed and attached) or the permanent metal tag after you have checked your deer. The choice is yours. We also need to be able to determine that the deer was harvested this season!

Thanks for the clarification. The color of the temporary tag should make that an easy one, unless it's a landowner tag. When in doubt, take more pictures! I don't think it's going to be a problem.

Thanks again,John

Right, but the metal tag makes is more difficult...Need to have a close up of the metal tag I would think.

A land owners tag will work fine. All those that buy tags over the internet have to make a tag as well. This will also be acceptable.

What about if you are hunting with a guy from another theam and you get him to validate your pic? Tip and I hunt together, and although we take a lot of pics, some are without a tag (usuallly our pics are taken when we first find the deer, before we tag and drag. So would this be enough?
As mentioned, rules are rules and we'll do whatever...but what happens if this occurs.....will it stand ( another team member validating your kill?)

Were going to stick with the rules here Jesse. It doesn't take much time especially with the two of you to take the appropriate picture. It is really going to be a pain in the butt for me. I always hunt alone, so I am going to have to load the deer up, drive home and unload the deer so that my wife can take the picture then load the deer back up and take it to the processor. I am sure that TIP can take a good picture for you. ;)
lets get this party started, I can hardly wait to win this contest. :bouncy: ;)

Ed, do like I did. Go to Staples or Office Depot and buy a colapseable camera tripod. They are around $19 I think I paid. Your camera should have a timer setting on it. Get the deer and such set up for the pic, set the timer and jump into the pic. Works great for solo pics.
