This final blast of rain should put the finishing touch to the steelhead this spring. Just as well as I've got a lot of tying to do to get myself ready for trout!

Matt, where you deperate enough to try it today in the rain and wind?????

I wouldn't count out the steelhead yet...wait to see what happens after this rain. I wouldn't be surprised if some fish pushed back up into the rivers. I talked to a guide who said there could be steelhead into june with the number of fish in the rivers. As long as the water temps stay below 60 mostly, there'll be steelhead in the rivers.

That 60 degree mark is the catch. Unless we get a really screwed up couple weeks the water will be too warm PDQ. We were getting close before the rain.


On the bright side smallmouth should be coming close behind now.

Your always welcome to come up to Michigan and try for a few. This year was pretty bad up here although the guys who knew the rivers well caught a few.

I like trout fishing too.

Let me know when you come up and I'll see what I can do to put you on some trout.

FYI,..no I didn't go out in the rain the other day. It was storming something crazy here in columubs round 4am when I was planning to leave...kinda wish I would have gone though as it might of been my last chance.

All I see in the forecast is rain rain rain. Guess that's what we get for having an (up till now) dry spring. I'm starting to doubt that fish will be present in real numbers at this time next week....but we can always hope. Guess I can tie some flies for other fish. A flyshop here is going out of business and I've spent at least $200 this week on discounted tying materials....I can't help myself...I'll probibly buy more. Maybe I'll work on some redfish flies...

Good to hear from you over here. I'm planning on being up to Grayling June for the B drakes and hex and I may be traveling solo part of the week. I'll let you know. Your still more than welcome down here if you get down this way again. I'll take you out for some Ohio fishing as long as I'm not working!
