I may go-still trying to justify the $$$. I will definately be at the ASA pro-am in Aurora IN the weekend of the 31st. I like the ASA shoots better anyways.

I have never shot a Asa but would like to someday how are they different from a 3d course?I know how they are shot and what you shot at but how are they better or having more fun at a Asa shoot instead of a 3d course. Just wondering

Here's why I prefer the ASA shoots. They are still a 3-D shoot, but with a lot more 'thought' put into them.

1.-ASA has a pro-am shoot on Friday. One pro+ five amatuers shoot together as a team. You can discuss yardage, etc. It's good fun and good practice for Sat and Sun.

2.-They divide the 'open' shooters into thre groups-open 'A','B', and 'C'. This puts you against guys in your skill level. The IBO just lumps 500 guys into one group-MBO.

3.-The courses are very spectator friendly. It's easy for guests to watch you shoot.

4.-Better chance to win $$. The ASA usually pays about 15-20 deep depending on how many are in a class.

5.-They have fun stuff like the ESPN games try-outs, SIMS marked yardage competition(where you can win $$), SIMS long shot competition-where you shoot at a moose at 100 yrds! Stuff for the kids...etc....etc.

It's just a lot more fun I think. The one in IN is only a few hours away-it would be good for you to go to.

Go check out their site. I think they have 3 more shoots this year. The one in Auora IN should only be about 2 hrs from you guys. There is also one in Illinois and the Worlds in Alabama I think. I promise you won't be dissapointed.

Hey Q2-I think only about 2% of bowhunters shoot 3-D in the off-season. Then they wonder why they can't hit sh*t during hunting season! I'd do the Bedford shoot, but it is too close to the ASA shoot-only have coin for one. Of course, if someone else drives I'll roll out w/ ya........lol.:D
