I would say her meat isn't any good and would have think she would have died if it was in her since last year crazy

I wonder if she will ever get that out over time or if it is better left in? Still healthy enough to have offspring so looks like she is doing okay.

Wow...thats one of those above the spine shots that you always here people refer to as hitting between the lungs and the spine(Doesn't exist...well it does I guess but it equals a dead deer)....That arrow looks like it hit and followed above the spine and wedged there...

Above? Looks below to me, by the pics anyway

She is one sickly, skinny deer. Sad, sad, sad.

I thought she looked pretty good for being shot. It looks like last years shot the way its healed up around the entry. You cant even tell where the broadhead blades cut. Almost looks like a field tip hole, makes me think its pretty old. I wonder if she was shot before or after breeding...looks like the little guy is doing ok. I think it would cool to kill her. And I dont shoot blazers so it wasnt me ;)

Looking at the pics of the skeletal structure on the above web site, I'm thinking that maybe that its stuck in the bottom portion of the spine??? Looks like not much penetration on the arrow, a lot sticking out of her. Very bad angle too. Whoever took that shot needs to be a little more patient next time.

Looks to me like its stuck just under the skin if you folow the arrow it looks like you can see it under the skin

I almost wonder if that doe was shot at while on the run or bounding away and the hunter let it fly hoping for a good quartering away hit. I just can't fathom that a deer was standing still at that angle when the shot was taken(are there hunters that would do that?). Not good to shoot at moving deer and her moving might also explain the poor penetration ie...on the move and getting out to the limit of the hunters range and turns and then you have a bad bad shot. I am also a little surprised she didn't rub up against brush and stuff until she got that out of there, but maybe it was to painful. Very not cool to see something like that.

Looks like whoever took a shot at that doe was a little inexperienced at the time. Looks like it might have even been a long shot with how much is sticking out of her.

I am guessing a quartering-away shot at a distance too long for the setup. She took a step away from the hunter at the sound of the string, and there you have it. At least that is my guess.

I agree 1023. She could have been standing with a good quartering away shot, then turned slightly as the shot was made thus the result.

Only a guess but if she has had that arrow in here for a long time she may have been shot at less of a angle...Over the course of the yrthe arrow got layed back parallel with he body from traveling thru brush and such?????Just a guess...

Would anyone shoot her or do you think the meat would be bad?

Lucky

That would be a tough decision. I would be a little hesitant to eat the meat, but on the other hand I feel bad for her. Although, she doesn't seem to be suffering so I would probably let her walk. JMO

I've killed a doe that had a broken off arrow running between her ribs and skin. I just assume it was from earlier that year. She had a nasty green infection all over the side the arrow was on. She had healed over completely and I had no idea until I started skinning her. I would concider trying to kill her if she look to be struggling or weak, but I wouldn't plan on eating any of the meat. Great pics.

rear quartering shot? Some very unethical hunter out there.
