I have to share this story with all of you because I myself cannot believe what I am going through with Moultrie right now. SO here it is...my full story. I bought a Gamespy 100 from a guy over on Ohiogamefishing...close to a year ago and for right around $100. I get the camera and the LCD display is bad and won't show any text for me to even setup the camera. So I contacted Moultrie and explained the situation and they told me to send the camera back to them and they would check it out and get back to me. So I sent the camera back and they went ahead and replaced it with what I believe to be a brand new Gamespy 100. I received the new Gamespy 100 only to take it out, set it up and to watch it EAT batteries and take ZERO picture. SO I bring the cam back in and set it up with a fresh battery and tests it. Turns out the sensor is bad on this one as well. SO I Contacted Moultrie again and they said to send it back again. So I ship the cam back to them and they contacted me a second time. In the meantime I bought a Gamespy 200 and set it up in the woods and this cam is working PERFECTLY....so much so that it has actually snapped photos of a few birds that have buzzed the cam.....believe it or not....even for a Moultrie. So when Moultrie contacts me for the second time...I let them know that I would like to upgrade from the Gamespy 100 to the Gamespy 200...they said that would be fine but it would cost me $50 to acquire a REMANUFACTURED Gamespy 200 with a one year warranty. Fine...I will take it. So here comes my newly refurbed Gamespy 200. I take this cam out in the woods and set it up...check on it a week later....dead battery??? Ok....check the SD card...ZERO pics on a heavy trail...hmmm....ok new battery and I will check on it in a week or so. So I head back out to check this camera and low and behold....dead battery and ZERO pics again. So I took this cam home and put a fresh battery in it and set it up in my garage.....and the damn thing won't take a single pic and the buttons on it are harder to use than a doorknob covered in grease......go figure. So I contact Moultrie AGAIN.....send it back blah blah blah. Well they called me the other day...."Sir we will replace you Gamespy 200...but we don't know when our next shipment of them are coming in"....ok so I am being told that I could be weeks without my cam..ok. So I asked they guy if they had the new 2007 models in stock. "Yes sir we do" so I told they guy to ship me out one of the new ones and I would be happy......then this guy starts to laugh at me.....oh boy!!!! HE says to me" Sir if we were to give EVERYONE and new camera for everyone that we've had trouble with....we'd be out of business." Ok buddy what about my THREE cams in a row that I have had from Moultrie that NEVER took a single pic?? He responds to me "Sir you will get a few bad ones when you mass produce cameras by the thousands". Fine I can accept that but seriously...rectify my situation ASAP because I have been pissing around with these cams since January of 2007 and have YET to get a single pic from one of these cams. He refuse to send me a 2007 model and says that the ONLY thing they will do is replace my Gamespy 200....and I would be fine with this except for the fact that I have spent $100 on the original Gamespy 100...and $10 to ship it back...then spent another $10 to send the second Gamespy 100 back...then dumped $50 to upgrade to a remanufactured piece of junk Gamespy 200 then to spend another $10 to ship it back...now I am up to $180 and I have YET to get a single pic off of camera I have been messing around with since January.
I do understand that they cannot accommodate everyone in every way that they would like to...but THIS situation is absolutely ridiculous in my opinion and I cannot believe that they are going to let me SIT and wait for a shipment of cameras to come in for who knows HOW long. I would have really liked to have had some pictures of the other area where I had been putting these cams.....but I guess that will have to wait until next season after I sell this Gamespy 200 that I am getting back and buy myself something much more adequate. MOULTRIE FEEDERS.....I am sorely disappointed in your customer service and they way you have treated a customer who has not only been fairly loyal and patient but one who has said time and time again that Moultrie is a good company to deal with with good quality products. I will spend my money elsewhere from now on.

I've had similar problems with the cameras, but they have always corrected the problem to my satisfaction. If I were you I'd call back and ask to talk to someone in charge. The one nice thing is you always get a human voice when you call. I just got two gamespy 100 in the 4.0 megapixel. They have really improved the trigger speed on them, not real happy with the low resolution pictures, but until I get some SD cards I don't have enough capacity on the cameras to last long. Been getting 15-20 pics a day on my mineral licks.

I asked to talk to the customer service manager and was told "Oh..he's in a meeting" so I sent a comment in through the website and got the same response from the customer service manager. They will replace my Gamespy 200 whenever they get them in...and that's all. I just feel ripped off and treated unfarily about the whole situation...not cool.

Moultrie sucks! Their cameras suck and their customer service sucks. I have relayed my story about them before, and I could give a flying you-know-what if they made improvements on their cameras. With service like that, they can go sit and spin and far as I am concerned.

Wow. That's a terrible experience! I have a Moultrie 1.3 digital that is an absolute workhorse for me on feeder patrol. The trigger is slow, and it does go through batteries fast, but I use 2 rechargeable 6V's so I can swap fresh ones in and out on a weekly basis. The trigger is slow, but for feeder watching it's perfect because you don't wind up with 138 pictures of birds or squirrels.
I've had mine for over 2 years and have had zero trouble with it! Here are a few sample photos from mine:

I have three Moultrie cams, and had another but it was stolen. I love them. For the money you cant beat em. I bought two for 100 bucks and one for 79. I havent had the least bit of trouble with them. They all take great pics, My batteries usually last for about 250-300 pics. Which is fine with me seeing how 6volt batteries arent very expensive. My only complaint with them is the lack of security. My friend has a cuddeback and has had nothing but trouble with it.
My Moultrie Game Watcher 2.1 has been great. Have had it for 3 years and it's been flawless.
Sorry to hear about your problems. That does royally suck.
Here's a couple pics from my camera.

This is what cracks me up about all this. I hate Moultries. Mine was a piece of shat. Add that to the bad customer service. My Cuddebacks...Awesome! No problems whatsoever. Any more I just laugh. IMO you are wasting your money on Moultries. Even if they work well now, the day will come...

I just called back and talked to the customer service manager and explained to him my situation...I was calm and levele headed and just wanted him to see my pont in all of this and the dude got red with me.....are you serious???? Anyone want a good deal on a Gamespy 200 when I get it back?? lol It may or may not work even thought they test everything before they ship them out....what a joke.
Sounds to me like they receive these calls everyday...especially this time of year.

For the record, my Moultrie 1.3 is on it's third year, and the only thing I need to do with it is replace my rechargeable batteries. It runs 24/7/365. The batteries have almost 2 years on them, so they no longer hold much of a charge. They used to last 2-3 weeks, now about a week is all I can get from them.
I also own a Leaf River IR3-BU and a Cuddeback Excite. I have had no problems with any of them!

I have a Gamespy 200 out in the field right now....it's the 3.1 mp form Moultrie and it has worked flawlessly...and I would not be so upset about this whole deal if I would have had to return the cam once or maybe even twice. But 3 times is a joke and the money I have wrapped up in a cost effective is crazy. I told the Customer Servcie Manager (Gene) that each time I send this back to them it costs me $10 (so I have $30 just in shipping)....and he told me that it costs him money also to send it back to me....***....give me a good cam and you WOULDN'T have to keep sending cams to me. I seriously have never seen any more of a poorer excuse for customer service than this.

Tell them what I did. I belong to 4 interent hunting forums. I joined 3 national ones just to post about their shatty customer service and products. We are just drops in the pond to them, but it has an effect even if it is only a small one. I know 3 people that held off getting Moultries and bought Cuddebacks because of my suggestions. It doesn't show on the P&L at the end of the year, but I know it happend. And it makes me sleep better...

I have 4 moultrie 100s. I love them. I had problems with the sd card slot on one of them and had to send it back. I personally think their customer service is excellent. You pay to ship it back to them and they fix it or send you a new one regardless of where you got it or how old it is. With cuddeback you pay shipping and 60 bucks to have it fixed if the warranty is out. My buddy has a expert that he has sent back twice and now it has quit triggering again. Also with cuddeback it takes forever to get it back, at least both times he's sent his back. When I sent my 100 back last month they told me they stopped producing the 200 that it was replaced with the M-40, I think it was 11 days from the day I shipped mine to the day I got it back. I tried to talk them into upgrading me to the M-40 for my trouble but with no luck. This is just my personal experience and I'm not trying to upset anyone. I have nothing to gain from promoting moultrie (ie I'm not a dealer). If I had the same problems you've been through I'd probably feel the same way. That sucks that you've had that much trouble, but your still $200 dollars below the cost of a cuddeback. I hope they get your camera back to you soon and that it actually works this time.

Like I have said..I have one of the Gamespy 200's out right now and it works very well.....my gripe right now is the whole customer service bit. How the first customer service rep LAUGHED at me over the phone when I suggested giving me a 2007 model cam since they didn't have any replacements for the cam I returned and they have NOOOOOO idea when they expect to get more.....and then the service manger gets hot with me when I complained about the $30 I have tossed out the window for all of the shipping of THEIR deffective products? Oh and the service manager said he was going to talk to his "techs" and let me know what the soonest he could get my camera back to me....he said they were having a meeting this AM and he would leave me ameassage on my answering machine informing me of what he found out.....guess what...I am still waiting on my call.

1023 - I can tell that you hate moultrie - but I had the same experience with Cuddie back. i spent a fortune on one of those cameras and the pos never worked. That sob would take a picture when it felt like it - usually at night without the flash - sent back, played reindeer games, cussed, got nice again, then got mad again - then sold it to a "friend" before I threw it over the hill. In the meantime I bought 4 moultries - never have had a problem (except 1 was stolen) with them. In fact - I would love to get some more of the gamespy 100's - but the only place you can find them is on ebay - going for the same price they did 3 years ago (what does that tell you?)

Monroe, that is my only complaint about the Moultrie's...SECURITY! My Cuddeback Excite I can bolt to the tree from inside the camera and padlock the front cover. My Leaf River I run a Masterlock Python cable lock through the mounting plate, and if you want the camera you'll need a chainsaw to cut the tree down. My Moultries...wow, no tools required to jack one of them!
Have the newer models become better about security? I hope? :(

I've got an el cheapo Moultrie 1.3.
It's slow, works about 60% of the time, and takes ok pictures.
I like it because since I hunt on base the chances of it getting stolen are pretty good. If some yahoo does take it $100 isn't going to hurt as bad asa $400. Ask my buddy who had a no flash Leaf River stolen last year about how much that hurt.

i bought the one the made for Cabelas, and what a piece of junk that was.. never worked for SHAT... then it eat batteries too.. then the trigger was slower then my turtle's farts... what a waste of $150 plus the 15 bucks to ship it back to WV.
Then i siad i'll buy their best one... the I-60.... well the trigger speed still sucks, tried caling them today. guess what.. 12 callers on line and i'd be next after 90 minutes of waiting..
i had the same probablem years ago with Stealth, sent that dame thing back 8 times before they gave me their best one and i haven't had any probelms, but slow trigger speed..
Are these people stupid and can't figure out how to make it trigger fast, it is 2007 damn near 2008 and we still can't take a fast picture..
so tell me does anyone have any info on the I-60 yet.. or should i jsut send it back and refund my money and by a stealth..
hope you all can help..

Cuddeback and BEC have. I believe strongly that there are two things in life that are well worth the extra money. Trail cams and boots. You get what you pay for.

I agree that when it comes to hunting gear in general you get what you pay for.
However, I have a hard time stomaching the thought of putting out a $500 camera only to have some SOB steal it.
How about 1000? lol, Im ready to make my own.

I have a gamewatcher I bought at Wal-mart. I read a lot of negative stuff about battery life and trigger speed. So far the only thing I'm not happy with is trigger speed. From the time the sensor trips it takes 1 min for the camera to go off. I'm still getting a lot of pictures though as I'm set up on a feeder and mineral licks. As far as batteries go I had a set in for almost 5 weeks before I had to replace and literally took 1000's of pictures. Birds, Turkeys, Coons, Coyotes, Deer etc. Overall for the money I'm happy with the cam. One thing though, I set up with a large metallic object in the background. Old piecs of farm equipment in a field. I think this fooled the sensor as I filled up a 1 gig SD card in 3 days. You have to be a little mindful of what is in the background of the frame. A rising sun, large metallic object, anything that may reflect heat could trip the cameras sensors. For what it's worth. Good hunting.
