It looks like my season won't start till the 20th. This should make it interesting to say the least! Birds should be quieting down alot by then and been hunted alot. :rolleyes:

my brother in law who is a varmint and lives on the wayne and takes a turk every yr. on the wayne,last weekend usually the 1st hr on sat...he sez this is the best time to hunt

My wife and family won't appreciate it much.....
I figure since you can only hunt til noon anyway that I'll be home before most of them get out of bed....:)

My tricks for getting those birds that have been hunted alot, tone down on your calling (don't be too aggressive) and just be patient. It always works for me when the birds have been hit hard, so don't give up the ship yet.

I agree with Ohio.........find an area that the tom's tend to travel, start early and stay late. If you do call do it softly and less often. Our hunting group hunts the late season like deer hunting....find a good travel area, sit and wait something will happen! Also if you find an area with freshly scratched leaves sit down and start calling softly last year I called 3 jakes into gun range for my son using this method and it was 11:55 am when he pulled the trigger!
