This rain could not have come at a better time. We got all of our food plots in Friday, and fertilized the exisitng clover plots. We planted a total of about 3 acres with a few different blends. We have had good luck for the past couple of years with Pro-Graze, so we put almost 1 acre along the edge of our main plot in Pro-Graze. We also have had good experiences with Buck Forage Oats. This year we are trying a different Forage Oat (from Berlin Seed), that is supposed to be hardier, and last longer into the winter. We are using the oats as a cover crop for a few new clover/alpha-rack plots. I also am trying a blend from Merit Seed Co. called "Buck Draw" in one of my woods plots, that is about 1/4 acre.

Any of you looking for a good source for seed, give the guys at Berlin Seed a call, they are a small outfit, and have a division that specializes in wildlife seed, and are very easy to work with, and seem to have quite a bit of knowledge. I was extremely pleased with how they treated me.

www.meritseed.com Go to Wildlife Blends. I heard about them from a friend of mine that has property in Coshocton. Check your PM's for phone number. They are really nice people, and will help you out with whatever you need. After talking to them for awhile, I found out that they have worked with the area commercial deer farmers to develop some of their seed blends.

My son and I just got our clover planted Saturday. It rained nice yesterday, but right now it's pouring. I hope it's not too much rain that will wash seed away or drown out the seed???:irked:
