Hi,
My name is Dan Seitz and I am new to this site. I hunt with a longbow and am looking for places to hunt that have deer. Let me explain: Pa. has been on a herd-reduction journey for the last 5 years and hunting in a lot of the public areas where I previously hunted is not worth the effort.
By the time this season rolls around I will be 60. I'm hot ready to throw in the towell just yet but I would like to do some bowhunting in areas that have deer. To that end, Lord willing, I will be attending the Christian Bowhunters hunt at Tar Hollow State Park this November. A fellow I know was there last year and saw a lot of deer and shot a 10 point. I've never been an antler guy, but the thought of seeing deer again in some numbers has me excited.
I live in Carlisle, Pa which is about 370 miles east of Columbus, so going to Tar Hollow is a bit of a ride. I would love to be able to hunt in eastern Ohio which, being a shorter drive, would allow me to hunt Ohio more than once during the season.
I lived in Columbus for 8 years back in the 1980s and am aware of the good hunting some of you guys have. There truly are some nice deer in Ohio.:)
