i had my camera out behind my house about 100 yards into the woods trying to get a picture of a big buck i've been seeing. i put a corn pile out and a treestand up friday i went to get my camera today and it was gone my own neighbor stole it :tsk: and then gave it up after i had called the sheriff. pretty sad he tried to say i diddnt have permission to be on the property and he was watching it for the owner who suposedly lives in dayton.well he was saddened very quickly when the officer informed him that i not only had one camera but i had two cameras and the other had a clean shot of him with my other one in his hands.oh then he told him that i owned the property as well and he could go to jail for theft and tresspassing.

Did you really nail him with a second camera? If so that is SWEET!!!!
I've always loved the "I'm watching over the place for the land owner who lives someplace else" excuse.
Are you pressing charges?

Wow...a guy I know had a treestand stolen and spread the word that he had a camera by the stand and had a picture of the guy who did and and they have a week to give it back before he calls the police....he really didnt have a picture but he got his stand back the next day :) we live in a small town and word gets around fast

well i'm not pressing charges to prevent further altercations and nope i sure diddnt have that other camera there was only one but it sure scared the crap out of him and he came up off of it pretty quick. the sheriff said he tried to deny taking it until he told him about the picture then thats when he said oh well its right here then he began his story of watching the land.lol

well what changed my mind is that the guy shouldnt be on the property and he lied at first and if it wernt for the sheriff he woudnt have givin it up and the other thing that particular camera was borrowed from the police chief.and he was pizzed pretty good

Glad to hear you nipped that one in the butt. If you'd have let him go he might have thought he could get away with it again. Now maybe he realizes there will be hell to pay for his actions. Congrats on getting everything back and following through.
