Breaking the mold

Coming though my spring I'd been having a bummer start to the year, so I decided enought was enough and decided to make things better! I took a vacation day the Friday before memorial day to go and explore some of the better PA limestone waters. While the fish were very finicky and I didn't catch too many I thought I'd share a little of the scenery. The countryside alone made the whole trip worth while!

This a stream I spent the afternoon fishing. It's called Fishing creek, a very cold limestone stream that runs through the mountains north of State College near the town of Lamar and had a wide variety of characteristics. The entire stream is covered by special regs varying from Catch and Release to Trophy Trout Waters.

This picture is of Sping Creek in the Fisherman's Paradise area. These streams are definitely some of the best PA has to offer and are well known so I'm not giving away any secrets here!

hello Lance great pictures. Are you just teasing about those gill flys you talked about in the spring? It's too late for the spring gill flys but do you have any that work in the fall. If it's hard to put them on the site just say so it's no big deal OLE PAW PAW

I've got an easy to tie, sinking rubber legged fly that just makes them nuts! :)

Nice, Great looking place. Makes me want to get out my fly rod. (which I havn't done in years)
