Just learned about this site and thought I would stop by and let everyone know about a new waterfowl show set to go down July 26th and 27th in Strongsville, Ohio.

This show is a fund raising event of Special Youth Challenge Ministries inc. We take kids from 13-19 on hunting trips all over the US and I think there are plans for an African safari in the future.

Show will include:
+ The countries industry leaders of all sorts of waterfowl hunting related gear. You name and it'll be here. You see folks like Jeff Foiles, Fred Zink, Kelly Powers or Tim Grounds, Craig McDonald and St. Lawrance Outfitters, Mighty Layout boys, Decoy carvers from all over Adam Grimm, and many many more. Not to mention the countries bet goose callers. If you have never seen a two man goose calling contest you will not want to miss it. Two of tehse guys an stage will raise the hair on the back of your neck....it's flat out awesome!

+ duck and goose calling contests. ($1000 open goose, two man goose, junior goose, novice goose, and a meat duck calling contest)

+ A retriever test brought to you by North East Ohio HRC inc.

+ Decoy carving contest

+ Taxidermy contest

+ Seminars on everything from duck and goose calling from Jeff Foiles, Setting decoys and rigging decoys for big water from Capt, Mark, making stuffer decoys from Bill Bower, and retriever training (not sure who is doing this yet but trust me they'll be good)

+ Kids rides and activities

+ Vendor inquiries welcome just shoot me an email and I'll reply with the application. (no garage sale junk please!)

The best place to stay would be in Middleburg, Ohio just north of Strongsville. There are a plethera of hotels on Bagely rd right on 71 one exit from Stronsgville. Nice clean places too nonoe of the no tell motel dumps. You'll find some very nice places to eat right near all the hotels as well.

It's written in stone. The first annual SYC waterfowl Festival will take place at the American Sportsman Archery, Guns, and Ammo store in Columbia Station, Ohio. 27736 Royalton Rd. (440) 236-6464. July 26th and 27th. In addition to the decoy contest, taxidermy contest, retriever tests, goose calling contests, seminars we have also decided to have some trap shooting from X-Land'r blinds. We'll set out some decoys in a corn field and let some clay fly. You bring your gun and ammo or pick some up at the shop and we see who can and can't hit the broad side of a barn..........with the doors closed......from the inside! I would like to thank the owner Ron McKinley for providing us with such fine facilities. I have yet to sit down and write out the schedule of events, but there is plenty of time. I will almost certainly hold the two man and the $1000 contests on different days. But like I said that is not written in stone. This venue is unfortunatley too close to a class 3 airstrip and that makes the hot air balloon a "no go" I will ask them anyhow. That would be really cool
