For those of you who go to a butcher, what is the average cost you are paying for a standard cut deer to be processed ?

Around my area I can get it processed anywhere from 45 - 65 dollars. that depends who I take it to. If I take a whole deer to a processor and have the processor make smokies, jerky, summer sausage now your are talking 200.00

Cut, deboned, packaged and frozen including some grinding average around 75$ I believe, been two years now :confused: They process by the weight...I dropped at least a $120 on the last good deer and I'm reasonably sure they would include caping a trophy animal for me if need be. Because I'm always getting teryaki sticks and sausage and sometimes jerky made. Stimble's meats has a great venison stick recipe but they were 5$/ lb then. But I always have family and friends ready to scarf up venison jerky and sticks and sausage and share the cost
I used to do some or most of the processing. But I'm older now and I hire it all done by the pros. Right mully? :D

I got a deer processed for about 110 bucks...that was burger,steaks, and sausage....jerky is quite a bit more if i remember right...or you could do it yourself...

$50 for a doe, $60 for a buck. That is steaks if you want them, or how I get it done with every thing ground but the loins. The first one gets done that way. The second I spend about a $100 on getting special cuts and sausage and jerkey. The third and so on gets donated.

I belive I paid around $75-$80 for my deer processing last season.

Good to know.
I pay about $75 for a standard cut. All the guys in my family whine about the price and I wanted to show them that there are people paying a lot more than $75.
Got some cheapskates in the family who think a deer can be skinned and processed in 20 minutes, like you can retire on cutting deer for 3 months out of the year.
Funny thing is these cheapskates would not even think twice about dropping $800 on a new muzzleloader, go figure.

I have a good place here in Ashtabula county.Most place charge from 75-110 around here.But there is a grocery store in Pierpont that only charges $65 and the meat is packaged just like store bought meat(styrafoam and plastic wrapped)and then freezer wrapped.And the burger comes in the the gamemeat bags in your choice of 1,2 or 3 pound bags.And then all the regular cuts.Chops,steaks,roasts,stew meat.Just great service and a great price.

I'm one of those cheapskates that do it myself. It takes me a little more than an hour to skin, de-bone, then get the cuts in a bag to chill before freezing. If I have somebody to wrap the cuts as I make 'em, that's a bonus. Otherwise, I let them chill in the fridge while taking a nap.
I wouldn't pay $800 dollars for a muzzle loader tho'...:D
