View Full Version : Troll bite for the Hawgs ...
Is Erie gonna turn on for the troll bite for the Gals this weekend??
The WWA has a tourney the 27th, but it is out of the Huron Boat Basin with a very long run to the reef complex cans if they are still in that area .. if anyone gets into them ~ please post!:)
PS .. I'm just a old fart who only gets up to Erie a few times every year, but the Big Pond and tourney's are my prime readin' interest .. next to talkin' S-Eyes that is:)

erie, could you recommend any good boat dealers?
i'm kinda starting to look for a new or good used boat.
looking for something in the 16 -19 ft. range so i can take the family with me every now and then and still be able to fish erie with it(as long as the weather will co-operate) as well as the inland lakes in my area.
thanks.
No, I can't for a "used rig" .. usually the best deals are private & you don't take much more of a risk than though a dealer's markup on a used rig ~ but you should know your boats & realized that something that is used means that it has wear & tear, so buyer beware is the name of the game! :)
If you have some free time, here's some rigs .. Surf away!!! :)

PS .. for a new boat dealer, I myself would buy from the best local dealer, so that you can be in his face and a royal pain to him if you have any warranty problems .. hey, it's the real world, kinda tellin' it like it is;)
PSS .. the biggest Boo Boo I ever made was in 1979 to drive out to Bass Pro Shops In Springfield Mo & buy a new Tracker. When I got back to Ohio I found out that the Merc was Krap & none of the local dealers wanted to do warranty work on it & at the best put me on a waitin' list way behind their customers ~ after a battle with BPS & Merc I got the outta balance Merc crank replaced with a new powerhead after a month n half of bein' in dry-dock!!!

Jeffmo..............I see you are from Central Ohio, but Try Clemons marine in Bayview , Ohio ( on sandusky Bay ) ask for Harry Fluelling...best dam boat salesman in Ohio.............He'll fix you up........They sell alot of Erie boats, and I belive they are clearing them out right now.
Good luck !!

thanks for the help guys,i do appreciate it.
i've been looking on the net sites a several different makes and to be truthful it's gonna end up being a tough decision.
used boats do make me a little leary.
i've been hoping to get one this year but may wait til i can save up a good sized down payment on a new rig.
here's a Lil' info:

Jeffmo, try Happy Days at Port Clinton (between Fremont and PC on Route 53) -- ask for Troy Johnson. A lot of used boats -- tell him Rod Bender sent you..
