Buck, nice fish. i 'd say the bigger one is close to 5 lbs. Thats a big smallie, especially coming from a creek. I'm wading the Darby this Sunday.

What do you use to keep your camera in to keep it from getting wet? I wade a section that gets around 4' deep and am afraid of getting my camera wet.

Wow,.......nice creek smallies. thats my favorite kind of fishing. me and a buddy went wading Darby Creek monday, caught more saugeyes than bass...there's a nice small creek like that here in Pickaway county that I used to get some monster creek smallmouth from in the 70's and 80's. but now all I catch are 6-8 inchers.......lots of people and kids wading it now, plus new homes every 200 yards. Nice ones Buckslayer.......

That isn't Rocky Fork is it? I live in Ross County and wade every where. I have yet to have a day like that. I just moved back in March so you may have some competition next year. LOL I usually hit North Fork (another suspected guess at where those came from), Paint Creek, Rocky Fork, and Buckskin. I didn't get a full season in this year. Do you feel like the big ones move to big water in the summer? In-fisherman reports that smallies move as much as 72 miles in a summer -I wouldn't doubt it.

Any who maybe I'll see you out there someday. And here is a article I WROTE, if you have any tips you use I have 30 days to change it I would be happy to put them in there and give you full credit. http://fish.suite101.com/article.cfm/smallmouth_bass_use_chemical_alert

estopher, how do you get into rocky fork creek without the tree huggers trying to run you down, they are trying to buy every inch of land on that creek.

I will admit the tree huggers are getting hard to deal with...If you go in at Browning Road (your first left after Paint Creek Road) and continue until you hit a bridge, the bridge that crosses Rocky Fork Creek is state land. According to state law, waters that are navigational by boat are safe as long as you don't anchor. To me? No tree hugger has given me a hard time as long as I was at least trying to meet the waterway navigational laws (i.e. dragging a kayak at least). And if you go towards the end, almost none of the residents close to the intersection of Rocky Fork Creek and Route 50 are concerned with anglers. Simply knock on a door and permission will be granted to fish all the way to the Paint Creek- Rocky Fork Intersection (I've caught a muskie and a 4 pound smallie there every year I have fished it like clock work--besides the how and when). Hope this helps you out, it is a beautiful creek and my premise is that fish move up Rocky fork out of Paint Creek, so you aren't going to hurt the fishing. It seems the harder it is fished the more fish that move into the area. But a great family float;use the state access, don't anchor, and the tree huggers can't say much
