How much longer do you think steelhead will be in the rivers?

Welcome to the site! hope you enjoy it here.
In real numbers? A week at the very most. There will probable be some strays around for the first week of May but that should wrap it up till fall. There were a lot of fish in the river today but the waters dropping and getting clearer (if that's even possible) and the forcast isn't showing any signs of a cool down to prolong it.
I would strongly recommend the Grand this weekend. Probably the best bet for a lot of fish and still able to find room to fish.

I've heard reports that conneaut got a shot of fresh fish, and probibly peaked this past weekend. It's a good bet it will hold fish the longest. Chagrin is terribly low, but still holding alot of fish. Grand would probibly be a better bet though, with more water. This will probibly be the last "good" week to fish, but there will still be fish hanging around as long as they can, definitely through the first week of may. I fished the Chagrin thursday, fish were very tight lipped and spooky. But, my buddy and I caught fish consistantly all day. The key was using scaled down patterns and changing it up alot, and putting really good drifts through fish. Fish in broken, or green water were much more apt to hit.

Where were you at and what time Thursday? I was at Chagrin River Park in the morning with a 4 yr old. Fish were cooperative with a #14 sucker spawn.
It looks like I might fish this Wed noon also but I may hit the grand instead.

I fished daniel's and todd field. Didn't make my way down to the park.
I'm thinking about heading up tommorrow, wednesday. I'll most likely start at daniel's again, and work my way down river if I can't get into fish.

I don't think anyones been out in well over a week lunker. The rivers have all been blown out by the rain. It's likely that there will be a push of fish up some of the rivers as the water drops, but they'll probibly take care of business fast and head back out. I wouldn't expect any more great steelheading till fall, but there might be a few days to fish once the waters drop to fishable levels.
