fished the Tusc River for the tcba tourney. got to my hole around 9:07 and by 9:45 i had a 5 fish limit !! the smallies were CRUSHING a smoke colored gitzit tube bait !!! i caught 2 around 11 inchers and one around 12 inches and then a 13 inch fish and my largest of the day a 16 incher !!! i MISSED about 6-8 other bites and had ahold of a BIG smallie id guess in the 19-20 inche size range that just came off !!!
that is when the bite SLOWED down , i fished from 945 till around noon without a bite !! i did manage to SCRAPE up one more small smallmouth and a 15 inch saugeye !! the saugeye i caught on a cordell Big O Crankbait (a yellowish color with brown back)
That was it for the day !!! i think my luck was all in the TIMING (the bite was just On when i got there)
oh yeah i caught ALL of my fish on the edge of the fast water/slow water transition area in a large eddy i was fishing !!! they werent really relating to the wood or rock just cruising around searching for food on the edge of the faster water !!
took first place with 5 lbs 2 oz of total weight !!!
