Hello Everybody,

First off, i am new to this board. I currently live in the Detroit area and bass fish many of the lakes in southeast michigan. I accepted a job at a company that is in SHaronville and will be looking for a home near Morrow. Next big question......where can i do some decent bass fishing????

I think i was spoiled by the many lakes in michigan, i hope i am wrong.

If it was me I'd be heading for the Ohio River or one of the other tributaries that flow into it around there (Miami River etc, I think the biggest lakes closest to there would be down that way Caesars Creek, Harsha Lake and maybe a few in Indiana. There are some good creeks that run into the Ohio in that area, I would go to the Army Corps website and look for some maps there to start.

Well as for Caesars Creek Lake.Myself and 3 friends was there from Sunday afternoon to Wednesday mornning.and one not once did i or 2 of the friends get a hit on anything we tried. The weather on Sunday and Monday was quite windy.Tuesday was another story but the same ending.2 of them were going after muskies only,me and the other did not care what we caught. But we did talk to an older man on Tuesday of course it was ( my catch last week was 64 crappies) this week, 1 crappie, 1 bass ,1 small muskie. Then on Wednesday we found out that they held a bass tourny on it Tuesday afternoon till dark, the guy we talked to said he caught 2 4lb largmouthbass, 1 3lb smallmouth. But it has all the right stuff for a very good bass lake, lots of bays, lots of timber, lots of good drop offs.lots of structure all over the place . It is going to be worth a look.

for big bass down around these parts, I've not found a better fishery than some of the private farm ponds, hard part will be getting permission, if you can do that you can get some ponds with some huge bass!!!
pulled this bad boy out of a private pond last year...
don't have an official weight or length but I'm 6'5 240 lbs for reference...

yea I'm hoping I can get back in there this year, it's a lil tricky b/c its a closed toxic waste landfill kind of out by Williamsburg, my Dad used to work there 10 yrs ago and we still know the manager of the place and the only time I've ever had trouble was when I camped up there with some friends... Sometimes the gate to get back there is locked, other times it's not... I need to get a hold of the girl in charge and get written permission but its loaded with big bass, I pulled one out about the same size 8 years ago with a fricken hot dog while it was on its spawning nest but usually you'll catch 50 bass a day at least, its a big pond and has weedbeds that go from the bank to about 15 feet out and then drop off and the bass hang in there and just tear up crankbaits, worm rigs and spinnerbaits all day long.
