6pt full rack 4/5/07??

LOL, I know it sounds crazy but last night on the way home from work I spotted a 6point buck, so a 3X3. I called my buddy and we concluded there was no way a buck was still running w/ his horns, so we are thinking Doe w/ horns? I didn't have my good binoculars w/ me but they looked like nice hard white horns, i.e. didn't have any velvet on them like some does have.

Yes, it is possible he still has his antlers from last fall. There are many variables that go into when a buck drops his antlers and they shed them naturally from October thru late spring. I haven't seen a buck in 3-4 weeks this year myself. In the past I have seen bucks carrying into late March many times and watched a big 10 point one year until middle of April.

wvhunter your not crazy. I seen a nice buck standing along the road this morning that still had his horns.

I latest I ever saw one with last years rack still on was the second week of April here in PA....can't be many that keep em this long..

yes i also spotted a six pointer a couple of days ago right across the street from wright patt in dayton i thought i was seeing things so i drove by twice and he was still there so i know i'm not crazy

Cooskinner....I see that you spend alot of time near Nelsonville..I hunted the Sunday Creek area a few times..worked a few gobblers only to have them scared off by quads..nice area..I've never really seen any deer to speak of but have seen some god aweful big tracks in the mud near the wells..Lots of the Wayne in that area..camped on top of the hill just to the south of SC..spend any time in that area???

frank..... eventhough im not coonskinner..... i know right where you are talking about. we go there for deer and turkey in the spring an fall. i think the hill you are talking about is where we camp also. are you going down there this year? sorry to hi-jack the thread.

Not likley Bowhunter13...it is a nice place and I really liked it there but it's just to far of a drive for me....especially by myself...
