I am looking for places to fish around Cincinnati. I live in the Tri-County area and would be bank fishing.

I have tried Sharon Woods, but you can only fish off the pier and that is always crowded.

I have tried Lake Isabella, but cannot afford to shell out $8.50 each day to fish there.

So, I am looking for any other suggestions. I would like to fish the Ohio River, but am not familiar with where to go.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks,
Matt

If you want to know a good spot on the Ohio River for this time of year, The JM Stewart Electric Plant has a warm water discharge that dumps into 3 mile creek and where it flows out into the Ohio River, it creates a thermal rise in the cold river temp that draws in the bait fish and Hybrid Stripers. You can park off US 52 & work your way down in there to bank fish a bit down stream of where the creek flows in. If you had a boat, it's even better!

The Ohio River is the best resource anywhere in Southern Ohio for fishing.

My nephew just told me about some gravel pits the county opened for fishing. They're located at Kilby and Campbell roads in western Hamilton County. Look on the Hamilton County park's website under fishing. Google the aerial view for the layout. On the river, try Fernbank park in Saylor Park. I also fish the Ohio at Anderson Ferry. Just follow Anderson Ferry Road until you have to stop or swim. Looking at the river, fish on the left. You can catch hybrids and channel cats. Last summer, a woman reeled in a 29 lb shovelhead(on a Zebco 202).For just flat out fishin' fun, go to Winton Woods and catch carp. You can fish off the bank near the boathouse. Use yellow corn or Wheatie balls at Winton Woods.
