Most of the(if not all) fish that we are shooting are way back up under the trees and brush..They have started to raise the water levels in the res. and the carp are up in the fresh mud looking for bugs..We have had a few really good nights that we shot over a 100 and last Sun. we went out untill about 1am and shoot 50 between two boats.

i have always shot them during the day.on a good hot sunny day i would find many by a decent size tree in the shade from the trunk.always hard to see but that was a good place to locate them

Še§perado™
04-19-2003, 05:04 PM
I have found them like that later in the day, Mostly sucking on the surface around the bark.

Caribou Dreamer2
04-19-2003, 09:47 PM
Was at one of the hot spots today and man they were in there but hanging out very tight to the bottom ,you would maybe see them for a second then all you would see was mud every where. They also was hanging very tight to the edges in the high grass so when try to sneek in for an ambush they they were off again, but had fun today anyway. Will be back on the water next weekend.Should be better as long as the water warm and no rain.

Went out today and shot the Maumee. The fish are a little harder to find now that the water is going down and clearing up. Shot about 25 or so. 5-18lbs. No suckers today....hmmm.

Saw two other bowfisherman-in all the years I've been shooting there, I've only seen 4 other guys shooting fish. Didn't look like they did any good though. Hopefully we get some more rain to bring up some new fish.

Just got back-whacked a few. Maybe 35 or so. Biggest about 18lbs. Water was super low and super clear-it was like looking down into glass. Still waiting for the big influx of carps....there aren't many in there yet. Maybe when I get back they'll be there. Suckers looked like they are about to spawn soon.
