Yesterday I was talking to a guy about hunting. We got on the subject of crossbows. I was saying how I'd like to have one now that Kentucky has a much longer crossbow season for deer, which also runs during the same time as the turkey crossbow season. He tells me he as a 4 year old PSE 150 lbs. crossbow with a scope and a quiver full of bolts. He talked about how it never comes off the wall. He told me he paid around $450 for the bow. In a joking fashion I said, "I'll give you $100 bucks for it." The next thing I knew were at his house looking at it. It took me a half a second to whip out the check book.:bouncy:

DON'T YOU LOVE A GREAT DEAL!!!

I've never had, or even shot a crossbow before yesterday, WOW it passes straight through my archery target block, a bail of straw, and still buries itself deep into the ground. I think I'm gonna have to invest in a tighter compacted block.

It may be my new favorite toy!!! If anybody has any suggestions for a new crossbow owner, I'm willin' to listen.

I am sure that you will find alot of good information here and I am equally sure that it will all be positive. Good luck with the new xbow.

For starters, don't take for granted the simplicity of sighting it in. Make sure you practice alot with it. Don't get crazy with long shots either. I always tried to limit myself to 35-40 yards max. The limbsaver stick on silencers work really well to quiet them down also.

I did notice that it was quite loud when I shot it. I wanted to look at some silencing equipment. Thanks for the info...

remember,if you are gonna hunt from a stand then make sure you practice from the same height,it does make a difference.
also, buy some extra broadheads and practice with them after you've sighted in with the practice points to see how they shoot.sometimes there's a difference between the two..
