I decided to hit the river this afternoon with the bow. I'm glad I did.
I shot a few carp, most 10-15lbs, but I did get one mirror that went about 24 lbs, and a few that were around 20. Most of the carp I just let swim.
The cool thing are the suckers I saw. The biggest was an honest to God 10+lbs. Right at my feet-and of course I missed! I have NEVER seen one anywhere near the size of this fish.
I shot several 5-6 lbs, had one just under 7lbs@27". Maybe tommorow will be my day.........
Anyways, it was nice to get some blood, guts, and eggs on my hands. Maybe I'll run into my big buddy tommorow.
Good shootin.......}}}---------------->

I was shooting in the Maumee River.
I wouldn't make the drive up quite yet. Yeah, there are some big carp now, but in a few weeks there will be more 20lb'ers than you care to shoot. It is still kinda early for carp. I was after suckers today.
You guys are more than welcome to come up and shoot some fish with me. We grow 'em pretty big up here. Hopefully I can get out on the Lake soon. Now THAT is an experience.
Jake knows what time it is! LOL.............smack!

You know george some people feel that way about bass, others will go nuts if you just hurt one bass. Go figure with people nowadays.

There might be some states you can shoot them. In Alaska you can shoot northern pike all day long. They are a problem there like our carp is here.

yup if you are going to eat it so what you shoot it with a bow...you can shoot deer with a bow...why not a bass and contrary to what a bass angler society fisher might say bout em being not good eatin,i beleeve they are very good just fryed golden brn...thats just catch and release propaganda(put em back so i can make money from ketchin em).
Še§perado™

I don't know if we should even be joking about shooting sport fish on this forum. If the wrong person were to read the posts that you guys are putting on here it could cause some problems..All it takes is for one person like BUCKTAIL to print out those posts and send them to all of his other PETA members and then the person or persons who wrote them will have to explain that they were only jokeing. We don't need to deal with that kind of negative attention..Just my thoughts on the subject...

Good point there whit_1
Še§perado™

True, but reading it they should see we are joking. You make a good point Mark.

04-19-2003, 04:43 PM
its all in fun i'd rather play a bass in on micro light gear and then release him...this is as bad as someone complainin over shootin carp...peta don't care if its a carp or a bass or a deer...dont go squeemish on us...
Še§perado™
04-19-2003, 05:08 PM
lol...true george.

I'm not loseing my nerve I just don't want someone like Bucktail taking quotes out of context and useing them for his own personal agenda..Its just not anything that we need to be joking about. But maybe some of the guys that are always in here who don't really BOWFISH want it that way???I don't want to give anyone who is on the fence a reason to fall off!!
