Well spring was in the air this morning - not quite as I remembered it smelling last year but it was there.
It seems that our lab had somewhat of a little run in with a skunk this morning and she lost. Poor thing.....

So after running out of ideas on how to get rid of the smell I thought I would try the smoke. It made sense to me. (But I believe the smoke thing actually works too so ....)
So I used the scent smoker to put the "smell" out and it actually worked. Before I did that you couldn't get within feet of this dog without your eyes watering. Now she smells like I campfire but you cannot tell that she even had a run in with a skunk. That was impressive....
I will be curious to see (or smell as the case may be) the long term affect on the smell - being that I have tried everything known to me to get rid of the skunk smell in the past and nothing really worked like this. (Tomato, special shampoo, etc.)
Curious to see if the smell will come back after the smoke wears off?

So there you go Brock add that to your testimonial list :)
Maybe you should change your tag line

"If it will kill skunk smell surely it will work for you ";)

That is prety intersting and a great test to show the effectiveness of smoke.

Let us know how it is in a few days; I was always interested in the smoker.

BEC, in the years since we have been using the method, we have field tested on vast numbers of game species, traveled to the far reaches of this country in search of an animal that could not be fooled with smoke. Hunted in all kinds of weather, from scorching heat to frigid cold. But through all this, I think you may have come up with the most intense, daring field test of all.......and you did it in your own yard! I truly appreciate the extent to which you and Katie are willing to go to prove a concept as fact! You sir, are a fine American!;)

I just used a smoker to put the finishing touches on our latest batch of venison jerky..............;)
