Went down to scout some this morning with my partner. We both split up and listened at two different farms. I went to my families place and he went to another one about 5 miles away. I heard 5 birds and he heard 2. He picked me up around 7am and we went up the road from the farm about 2 miles to another farm. Pulled off the road and let out a crow call and 3 birds hammered not probably 125 yards away. I mean they were right there. Between 3 farms we heard around 10 birds. We also picked up another farm to hunt down there. We saw a bird out in this field strutting so we stopped and asked to hunt and he said sure. beautiful spot. Corn field backing right up to a wooded ridge. We all ready had access to the other side of the road, now we can hunt both sides. With that farm we now have 6 nice farms to hunt on this spring. It's going to be hard to figure out which farm to hunt on for the opener!! We only have 2 more weeks!!

some on here that have a hard time finding one property to hunt might find it hard to believe you can have problems with to many properties to hunt...but i know this to be true

Man I am glad to hear that those birds are load up there. I can't wait to get up there on the 26th. The last two weekends down here in Ga have been hard. I was the only one hunting and I heard one gobbler gobble three times and shut up. There are too many hens keeping them busy. Hopefully this weekend the competition for a mate will make calling a little bit more productive and the gobbling to pick up. The woods just aren't the same when the sound of gobbles aren't present.

I hear ya shrivl, I hate sitting in the woods when the birds aren't singing. It makes it really boring. I've sat many of mornings and not heard the first bird, and then I have sat down and heard birds all around me. Those are the days that make you come back and want more. I remember last season after the first week I did that alot! I tagged out the first week and was helping my buddy and that second week just sucked! The third wasn't much better. I hope they gobble better this season. I know they are sure gobbling good now, and early as well. I heard the first bird this morning at 6:15am. It was still dark out. A few didn't start gobbling till about 6:40am. By 6:45am the woods were lit up with gobbles. I'm going to watch the weather and get back out this week somtime.

Sounds like opening day will be noisey. It seems any more property to hunt is getting harder every year to find.
