How many noreasters we got in here? This section always seems pretty slow. Are there just not that many fisherman on here from the northeast?

Hello out there!
I'm here also.
This site got it the game late here in Ohio as there was already another great Ohio site with a large amount numbers. The other Ohio site has a lot of events going on complete with members support.
OhioSportsmans sister site north of our border is allways very busy. Have you checked it out? Its to bad really because Steve has done such a nice job on all his sites.
I better get back to work.

I'm here also. :) I'm pretty much tied to steelhead only till late April so once the ice breaks I'll be putting reports up in the coldwater forum. :)

I actually thought about breaking my auger out last week for the first time in 10 yrs! Unfortunately it's a real cheap one and it takes a decent amount of effort to cut through so it dims the entusiasm a bit.

Hey guys, just joined the sight recently. I've been hibernating & getting tackle ready. I don't ice fish, the first place I go are the metroparks lakes for the strocked trout . Usually shadow lake. It's the closest & I work 2nd shift so I go in the mornings for a couple hours. When the ice melts, 'll be there if anybody wants to meet up.

I was gonna get into some ice this year, but money was tight and I couldn't afford to start up. I will be waiting til spring time. Glad to see there are some Noreasters here, though.

Deerhunter Matt,
Dont let funds stop you from getting on the ice. Most ice fishermen have more gear than they can use and would be happy to have someone new just come out with them. Warm clothes is all you really need. Fishing with someone elses gear is good way to try different gear so that when you do decide to make an investment you wont be waisting your hard earned$$. Dont get me wrong, I have some really cheap outfits that I still use on occasion, and will catch just as many fish with them at certain spots but, I like my better outfits the most.
May not want to ask to borrow someones auger as this may be were the line gets drawn, best to ask " hey would you show me the proper way to use it and I'll drill you extra holes"!

Yea, I hear ya, I know how to ice fish a little, my older bro used to have the stuff. Just haven't had the time/money to get back into it.

Steve

Why is it when an if you decide to let someone use your auger, the first thing they do is peck the ice a couple times before they start drillin?

The Fishing forum it's self as a whole does not get much attention! I thought Fishing was a Sport in Ohio! :16suspect1:

Well I'm in Central Ohio, but I LOVE FISHING AS MUCH AS HUNTING!

So I'll be around,
