I had my fourwheeler stolen last night out of my yard. I know I know I should have had it locked but I had taken it off my trailer the other night to ride around in the snow. It usually is attached to the trailer and the trailer has a lock on it. It has been on the trailer out in my yard since September with no problems of course as soon as I leave it off the trailer it disappears!

I hate thieves!

Stolen from Maysville Ky area.

Here is the info: 2000 Yamaha Kodiak 4x4 Forest Green w/Camo seat.Vin# JY4AJ03W6YA006732

Update...Four Wheeler found in Southern Ohio. A guy was arrested that was found riding it. He said he just bought it and gave the police a couple of names to track down. The Adams Co. Sheriff's office said they had drilled out the ignition.I had already turned it into the insurance company so it is headed to an auction company. Just a reminder to anyone who has a 4 wheeler stolen, make sure you give the police the VIN number. That is how they tracked mine down as stolen.

Right on! When someone takes something that doesnt belong to them, they are depriving someone who may have worked hard for that item. I had a bow stolen out of my truck last year at a local archery shop. It was my friends bow. I was sick. I replaced his bow with one that cost twice as much to say im sorry. I believe if you do bad things, you will be paid back.

I agree guys..I hate theives!!!

A little more info. The thieves are using a cattle trailer to load these 4 wheelers up and you can't see in the trailer. My neighbor actually saw them loading my 4 wheeler in the trailer in broad daylight and she thought it was me so she didn't think anything about it. The thing that bothered me was I had it paid for and even with insurance on it,you never get back what a new one is going to cost you. Oh well I hope they get the guys who sold it to him. They at least have his name. Some 4 wheeler thieves also hit the store where I bought my new one. They recovered those still in the crates in Brown County Ohio. These may be related,I haven't found out yet.

You are lucky, that they found it, now to find the thief, My suzuki eiger was stolen out of a lock building chained to a older 4 wheeler last Oct. When the Depty. came to do the report he told me just to wright it off, Cause they go to KY. to be sold and they can't catch them,This was from the Adams Co Sheriff office Depty. If they catch these and any thiefs they need to put them on the ball and chain and make them work not just slap them on the wrist and let them go, Also they have my vin# but I'll probley never see the 4 wheeler .

Just a tip, Next time you purchase one, for next to nothing extra on your insurance add GAP. It will cover the difference of what you owe and how much it is worth.

ALWAYS lock your atv up. I know a guy who has stolen one, and it was as simple as picking it up and putting it in back of a truck. He took the ignition off of a kawasaki and put it in the honda that he stole.

On another note, I just got a citiation a few weeks back for riding my atv in a ditch. When they stopped me, they didn't care to check the VIN number, they only looked for a registered off road sticker.

I had one stolen back in 1994 - it was barely broke in; only 4 months old. I paid cash and received next to nothing from insurance. They never found it although a neighboor did provide a description of the truck that had to have been involved. It was stolen form a padlocked barn 100 feet behind my house while I slept in bed.

Sure wish I would have had the dogs back then; then again maybe not because I will shoot first and answer questions later!

Ever since then I have been extra "paranoid" about everything. Have dogs and keep handgun, shotgun, and .30-06 rifle ready to rock within reach. I hate thieves and won't hesitate to kill somebody in a second if I ever catch them stealing my property again!

That will get you locked up for a long time with the very thieves you hate so much. Above all else, don't post the above on the internet for all to see...

Don't care - will deal with whatever happens when it happens; I'm sick of low life scum and last I checked there is absolutely nothing illegal about having loaded firearms within arm's reach in the home I own.

This is what is wrong with this country these days - low life losers with far too many rights!

The way I have always seen it is.

That person with the full understanding they could die breaking in my house, made the conscious decision to do it anyway. And if they are willing to die to break in, then they are probably willing to kill for it also.

And if they are willing to die to break in my house, I’ll do my best to uphold my end of the deal.

I totally agree! The ccw is for people who are sick of scum that get away with everything. Having a ccw doesnt warrant you to be the terminator, but if a person threatens the lives of my family, Its on! I hope i never have to take a human life, but better them then me. Theives and scum beware! Citizens are fightin back!:mischeif:
