I couldn't stand it anymore...My Moultrie is working like crap and their customer service is worse than Biologics. So I put a bid on a Cuddeback Excite on ebay a few days back thinking I would steal it if I could. Winning bid: $232.50. I saved about $70 so I figured I could spring for it. I already have to compact flash cards from my old StealthCam so I'm set there. I'm "Excited" about getting this thing in the woods.
If anyone has a camera that you built, or just use that takes the original memory sticks, I have 2 new ones in the package I would be willing to part with for a resonable price. I bought the with the idea I would build my own camera, but I never won a bid on the camera I wanted so I gave up and got the Cuddeback. Just let me know.

My moultrie hasnt let me down yet. I really enjoy it. And Im saying that while we have a few $300 cameras...
Moultrie is supposed to be coming out with some new cameras for a reasonable price, including a infared one. I think they will take D batteries instead of 6 volts though. 88 knows more about it...

Like 06 said, moultrie is suppose to have some nice ones in 07..thats what im waitin on...
This is copied and pasted from www.kisky.com
I just wanted to let everyone know what is coming from some of the trail camera companies for '07. I've met with GSM (Stealth Cam), Moultrie, and talked with Cuddeback. Of the three, Moultrie has taked the biggest step forward in the coming year. They have 5 new cameras coming, all are advertising 1 second trigger time! Thay actually told me the new cameras were tested at .85 seconds! Finally, someone is going to give Cuddback some competetion on trigger time. Moultrie is replacing their 2.1 mp camera at $99.99 with a 4.0 mp unit for the same price. They also have 2 new infrared cameras in 4.0 and 6.0 mp with color during the day and infrared at night. They will both retail under $300 and the 6.0 has a built-in picture viewer. They also have a 4.0 mp flash camera with a built-in viewer that will sell aroung $250. All of the new units will run on 6 "D" cell batteries and they are touting 150 day battery life on all the higher end units. They are also working on what they call a "battery brick", which is basically an external rechargeable 6 volt that will give even LONGER battery life and work much better in cold weather. As you can probably tell, I'm pretty excited about Moultrie's new offerings. The new units are supposed to be available around May 1st '07. Cuddeback basically is doing nothing different for '07 other than some minor housing changes......I guess they think they've got it "figured out" although their '06 units were by far the least reliable they've ever built!? GSM didn't have anything "new" to show me either, although they said they will show me some different cameras at the ATA show in Atlanta.........IF Moultrie's cameras work as advertised, thay will dominate the business in '07

I hate moultrie. I have 2 of them and both are pieces of crap. Its like they have a mind of their own, sometimes they work and sometimes they dont. Mine isnt dependable at all and hasnt worked for months.

Here's a few of the boys!!! This camera is the IR model by the way.
Oh, by the way Staples had the 1 gig compact flash cards on sale for $9.99. Glad I got a few with all the activity!!!

While I like my new Expert Cuddeback, my batteries were only lasting 2-5 days when it got real cold. I finally took mine down here before the last ice storm as I was only getting does and shed bucks. No racks to look at anymore. The batteries were lasting much longer when it was warm, but the freezing weather just was killing them.

Whats really going to be nice is that you are going to be able to set it on a trail and get pictures of the deer instead of a tail, just empty woods....or no picture at all. I will update soon myself.
Congrats on the purchase.....now show me a some wildlife.:mischeif: And I ain't just talking about St Patty's day!:yikes: :yikes:

Well I actually read the manual so I wouldn't mess it up...Then I set it up in my office to test it out and it really does trigger fast!!! No complaints there. Pretty easy to figure out...Its up to the deer to walk by it now.

Nah I'm gonna let it sit 'til next weekend. I have a bad habit of wanting to check it every other day. Gotta give it time to catch in the act. It will be hard that is for sure.
