With the extreme cold here in Ohio my batteries are not lasting very long in my trail camera, at most a week. I don't blame the camera but the weather.

Have any of you used the rechargeable batteries in trail cameras? Are they worth the investment? I talked to someone who had them for a regular camera and he said they don't last near as long as regular batteries.

My concern is that they will not even last a couple of days. Give my some of your experiences. Thanks.

I Use The 6volt Rechargable In My Moultrie ...
Cold Weather Does Suck The Life Out Of The Batteries ...
But It Also Depends On What Camera Your Using ...

with my experience the rechargeables last for a short time compared to regular, but they do save you money. You just have to switch out batteries more often than normal.

I love the rechargeables for my moultrie. Have 2 rechargeables and 2 sd cards, just bring a new battery and card when I check the camera. My moultrie has crapped out twice lately from the cold, I missed some pictures. A few nights the deer have eatin all the corn I put out for them in one night.

Im trying to moniter for shedding activity. Havnt seen one buck shed yet for sure, except the 3 legged deer, he shed back in december...

A lot has to do with the camera and the weather only magnifies the power consumption/loss.
A good quality rechargeable battery will pay for itself in a very short time.

I have had major problems wiht my stealth cam, been upgraded a few times and bought solar charger as well. the solar works well up till the temps get around 40.

I bought the 12volt battery pack you can recharge at the house. So im lost for word now, but the rechargable batteries i have found to be the best woudl be the Monster company batteries. th4ey work great in digital camera too.

hope this helps.
